What I study at school and why I chose to do work experience at ads creative solutions?
I am currently in Sixth-Form studying three A-levels consisting of Business, Media and Geography. The subjects I really enjoy are Business and Media and I am really interested in the marketing sides of them both. Therefore, I have chosen to complete my work experience here at ads creative solutions because I am passionate about advertising and marketing. I would like to deepen my knowledge and learn new skills about these topics during my work experience, so I can take key aspects away to use in future school work and job roles.
What tasks have I been shown/given to do whilst at ads creative solutions?
During my work experience at ads, I was given a variety of different jobs to do. For example, I was shown how to complete daily social media checks for clients and I also looked at websites of particular clients and filled in documents with information from the web pages. As well as this, I was able to update websites with delivery lead-times, percentages and sales forecasts to make sure the websites were up-to-date. Furthermore, I was able to practice creating graphics and logos on Adobe which will be very useful for future media work, as well as scheduling a range of social media posts for clients.
What have I learnt from my work experience at ads creative solutions?
From completing my work experience at ads, I have learnt about particular roles that are included within a digital marketing apprenticeship degree and I have learnt about what day-to-day tasks are included within an advertising, design and marketing agency. As well as this, I have learnt how to create logos and update websites which will be very useful in the future. I have also learnt the key aspects of checking and scheduling a few social media posts, as well as creating a newsletter for a client using Mailchimp.
What would I like to take away from my work experience to use in the future?
In future schooling and job roles, I would like to take away many aspects of what I have learnt throughout my work experience. For instance, daily social media checks and adapting data on websites is needed within digital marketing and advertisements roles. Furthermore, creating logos and graphics will be useful for my Media Studies coursework at school and for future marketing campaigns. As well as this, scheduling different social media posts on a range of different platforms was very interesting and enjoyable to do and it’s something I would like to take away with me for future use.
The team at ads creative solutions wish Izzy all the best for her A-Levels this year.
