Capturing the spirit of fundraising through photography for a national charity
At ads creative solutions, we’re proud to have worked and collaborated with numerous charities that make a real difference in their community. One such partnership with Tommy’s, a leading charity supporting pregnancy research and providing vital resources for parents, was a particularly rewarding experience. The shared commitment to raising awareness and driving positive change made this collaboration especially significant for our team.
The Brief
Tommy’s approached us with a clear but exciting challenge: to produce a range of promotional photography that showcased the wide and diverse fundraising opportunities available to the public. The core idea was to visually represent the different ways people could support the cause, whether from the comfort of their home or out in the community.
The range of professional images would be used across their marketing platforms to encourage greater involvement and highlight how fun and varied fundraising can be.
What We Did
To bring our charity client’s fundraising story to life, we were tasked with producing a range of professional photography that would inspire and engage the public. The brief centred on capturing a range of fundraising options, from individual challenges to community events, in a way that felt both authentic and aspirational.
During the planning phase, we worked closely with the client to understand their audience and messaging goals, then mapped out several key scenarios that would resonate emotionally and visually. These included everyday hero moments, small group activities, and larger-scale community efforts.
As well as the photography, we were responsible for the appointment of the models within the photos. Our Senior Designer, Rob, meticulously planned the style and location of every shoot, each designed to tell their own story.
The scenarios included:
- Baking at home
- Cake Bake Sale
- A Pub Quiz
- Fundraising through Sport
- A Head Shave
- Fundraising through Gaming
Once approved, we moved into production, carefully staging each shoot to ensure the imagery would be versatile, relatable, and campaign-ready across multiple platforms.
Over several weeks, we carefully managed a series of shoots across different locations, working closely with models and maintaining strong visual direction throughout. Every element was carefully aligned with Tommy’s brand tone, supportive, hopeful, and full of energy.
The Result
The final photography assets provided Tommy’s with a vibrant, versatile library of content ready for use across campaigns, social media, their website and promotional materials. Each image captured the spirit of fundraising in a way that felt accessible, engaging, and meaningful.
Beyond supporting Tommy’s outreach efforts, the project also reaffirmed our team’s belief in the power of creativity to make a difference.
