Established over 100 years ago, Frilford Heath Golf Club is located in South Oxfordshire on 500 acres of glorious undulating heathland. Now boasting three championship 18-hole courses, top of the range simulators and a state-of-the-art golf shop and performance centre.

our brief

As lockdown restrictions eased coming into the spring of 2020, Frilford Heath wanted to attract new members who wished to get back outside, play some sport and take advantage of the nice weather. With the situation at hand, the best way to approach this was through targetted social media campaigns.

what we did

To begin with, we narrowed down the audience we wanted to target to ensure we were reaching the correct individual. We carefully thought about the location of the individual and their demographic. With an audience in mind, that then allowed us to create the visual side of the advert. We had a host of high-quality pictures at our disposal to take advantage of, which led us to use a Facebook carousel campaign as opposed to a single image ad.

As mentioned, with the situation at hand, we needed to make sure all government guidelines were specifically followed. This required research into each rule set out but also meant we had to continually manage the ad throughout its run to keep it up to date as and when the rules were changed.

the results

To date, this was one of Frilford Heath’s most successful social media campaigns. Throughout the time it was running, the ad was seen by over 100,000 people and received a grand total of 2,684 link clicks. From this campaign, Frilford Heath welcomed a host of new members to its golf course.

Over the course of 2020 we welcomed up to 250 new members to the club. Our social media campaign with ads creative solutions really helped us with generating enquiries and converting them to members. In addition, the campaign also helped us generate more casual visitor bookings and corporate golf days which is another vital income stream for the club. Due to the uptake in members we had in 2020 we have had to introduce a waitlist for membership spaces. We look forward to working with ads creative solutions again to help promote our waitlist and everything else that Frilford Heath has to offer the community.
